The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA or the Council) is a statutory body, established in terms of the Health Professions Act No. 56. We are committed to serving and protecting the public and providing guidance to registered healthcare practitioners. We achieve our mandate by regulating the health professions in the Republic of South Africa in aspects pertaining to registration, education and training, professional conduct and ethical behavior, ensuring continuing professional development, and fostering compliance with healthcare standards.

The South African Society of Psychiatrists is the only professional body in South Africa that represents the interests of the majority of Psychiatrists in South Africa. The British Psychological Society is the representative body for psychology and psychologists in the UK. We are responsible for the development, promotion and application of psychology for the public good.

EFPA (European Federation of Psychologists' Associations) is an umbrella organisation and the leading Federation of 34 European National Psychology Associations representing about 250 000 psychologists.

“AASP (Asian Association of Social Psychology) was formed in 1995. The main goals of AASP are (1) to explore, address, and advance the unique contribution that could be made by Asian psychologists in investigating issues that are relevant and of interest to them; (2) to expand the boundary, substance and direction of social psychology beyond its initial Euro-American base; (3) to move away from the narrow focus on intra-individual process, and move towards an integration of various areas of psychology as well as sister disciplines; (4) to promote research on Asian traditions, philosophies, and ideas that have psychological contents and/or implications; (5) to encourage links between Asian and Western facts and principles of social psychology; and (6) to provide Asian-Pacific scholars with a scientific forum for discussion, evaluation, and publication.
